We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to oversee the execution of high-profile commercial construction projects specializing in Commercial Dimensional Stone and Architectural Masonry. This role focuses on major commercial buildings, exterior cladding, and complex interior architectural stone finishes rather than residential masonry or thin-veneer retail applications.
The ideal candidate brings a robust technical background in heavy commercial stone and masonry construction, exceptional client-facing and subcontractor management skills, and a proven track record of employment stability and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Life-Cycle Management: Oversee commercial stone and masonry projects from preconstruction handoff through submittals, shop drawings, fabrication, installation, and final project closeout.
- Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination: Manage, schedule, and level performance for stone fabricators, masonry installation crews, and specialty trade subcontractors.
- Financial Oversight & Cost Control: Track project budgets, review cost estimates, manage change orders, and oversee billings, pay applications, and job-cost reporting to ensure financial targets are met.
- Submittals & Technical Review: Review architectural drawings, structural specifications, stone shop drawings, and engineering calculations for compliance with contract documents.
- Scheduling & Job Site Logistics: Coordinate master schedules, manpower allocations, material deliveries, and hoisting logistics with General Contractors and on-site superintendents.
- Quality Control & Safety: Enforce rigorous quality standards for dimensional stone installation, joint detailing, and anchoring systems while maintaining strict adherence to company and OSHA safety protocols.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, architects, owners, and internal preconstruction/estimating teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of professional project management experience specifically within commercial masonry and/or commercial dimensional stone (cut-to-size granite, limestone, marble). (Note: Residential or light commercial framing/drywall experience does not qualify for this position).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software, takeoff/estimating platforms (e.g., Bluebeam Revu, On-Screen Takeoff), and advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) literacy.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of stone anchoring systems, backup walls, flashing, weep systems, and architectural masonry installation methods.
- Work History: Demonstrated employment stability with long tenure at previous companies and logical, verifiable reasons for career transitions.
- References: Must be able to provide strong, verifiable professional references from past employers or direct supervisors.
