Job summary

A leading staffing agency in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Mid-Senior level Project Manager with a degree in Engineering or related field and PMP certification. Qualifications

Job Highlights / Responsibilities
  • Acts as central point of contact between Sales, Engineering, Operations, Shipping, customers, and other departments.
  • Manages multiple projects using project management principles; makes critical decisions and reports issues.
  • Provides technical support and guidance on APV products; resolves project-related problems.
  • Ensures customer specifications are understood and communicated to manufacturing.
  • Develops project schedules, analyzes progress, coordinates logistics, and generates reports.
  • Maintains safety, cleanliness, and adherence to production standards.
  • Collaborates with Sales Engineers and Production Planning to resolve customer scheduling, technical, quotation, and project management issues.
  • Prepares and verifies shop drawings, quotations, submittals, and other project documentation.
  • Must be knowledgeable of AWWA, ASTM, M11 standards related to ductile iron and steel pipe.
  • Identifies value engineering opportunities for customer and company benefit.
  • Acts as team leader for virtual teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Develops expert understanding of customer needs; builds strong partner relationships.
  • Identifies project risks; accountable for decisions throughout project lifecycle.
  • Maintains documentation according to SPFA and ISO guidelines.
  • Assists with continuous improvement programs and special projects.
  • Trains other project managers and team members in project management practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, Industrial Distribution preferred) or
  • 5 years of project management experience with PMP certification.
  • Customer Service & Communication:
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Technical & Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to perform calculations related to quotes, pricing, and credit.
  • Ability to read and use engineering drawings and technical info.
  • Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency with Windows-based business software (Excel, scheduling, word processing).
  • Organizational & Project Management:
  • Attention to detail, time management, organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Scheduling, prioritization, leadership, and adaptability under stress.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification (if not already required).
  • CAD or software experience.
  • Experience with steel pipe fittings, pipe design, sales, and service.
  • Field sales or customer service in water/wastewater industry.
  • Knowledge of AMERICAN products.
  • Spanish language ability a plus.
