Job summary

Platform Aerospace is seeking a Project Manager - Aerospace Supply Chain in Hollywood, MD, to lead cross-functional programs across engineering, quality, finance, planning, and operations. You will manage supplier relationships, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to meet customer requirements and stay on schedule and within cost targets.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years in aerospace or manufacturing project management, with proficiency in PM tools and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage aerospace product development and production programs from project initiation through delivery.
• Oversee composite material suppliers and manufacturing vendors to ensure schedule, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, capacity, and delivery schedules to mitigate risks and prevent program delays.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, budgets, and action-item tracking systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure design requirements, technical deliverables, and change management activities are completed on schedule.
• Partner with Quality teams to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and internal quality processes.
• Coordinate with Finance to monitor project budgets, material costs, forecasting, and program profitability.
• Work with Planning and Operations teams to align production schedules, material availability, and customer delivery commitments.
• Lead cross-functional project meetings and communicate project status, risks, mitigation plans, and key performance metrics to management.
• Identify and resolve project issues impacting schedule, cost, quality, or customer satisfaction.
• Support supplier audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately and in accordance with company and customer requirements.

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Project Manager - Aerospace Supply Chain leads and coordinates cross-functional activities to ensure the successful execution of aerospace programs. This role oversees external composite material suppliers and manufacturing vendors while managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

The Project Manager works closely with Engineering, Quality, Finance, Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure projects meet customer requirements and are completed on time and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Experience coordinating projects across multiple functional departments, including Engineering, Quality, Finance, Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software and tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, UAS, or advanced manufacturing programs.
• Experience managing supplier performance and strategic vendor relationships.
• Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and aerospace supply chains.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, or more with assistance.
• Work environment consists of office and manufacturing settings with potential exposure to noise, varying temperatures, odors, and chemicals.
• Ability to traverse manufacturing and production facilities as required.
