Job summary

You will oversee all phases, coordinate with field supervisors, engineers, and clients, ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence, and drive project profitability through effective planning, tracking, and stakeholder management across multiple sites in the Southeast.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience in mass excavation, earthmoving, civil construction, or site development.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial earthwork projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale mass excavation and earthmoving projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors, engineers, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Support project planning, sequencing, and execution strategy.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor production, safety, and progress.
  • Track production, costs, and profitability; manage change orders and reporting.

We move earth at scale, delivering large, complex mass excavation and site development projects across the Southeast. Our work includes grading, utilities, and large-volume earthmoving for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical developments.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead major earthmoving and mass excavation projects from start to finish.

This position will be based on a job site in Georgia.

Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of mass excavation and site development projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable execution. This role requires strong field coordination, financial oversight, and leadership across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage large-scale mass excavation and earthmoving projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors, engineers, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Support project planning, sequencing, and execution strategy.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor production, safety, and progress.
Project Execution
  • Oversee project schedules, quantities, and production tracking.
  • Work closely with field teams to optimize grading, hauling, and excavation operations.
  • Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain the schedule and productivity.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of equipment, labor, and subcontractors.
  • Manage project budgets, costs, and forecasting.
  • Track production rates, quantities, and job cost performance.
  • Handle change orders and monitor overall project profitability.
  • Provide regular financial reporting and updates to leadership.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developers, and general contractors.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and project partners.
  • Represent the organization in project meetings and field coordination discussions.
Operational Coordination
  • Collaborate with estimating, procurement, and field operations teams.
  • Assist with project planning, constructability reviews, and mobilization strategies.
  • Support equipment planning, logistics, and manpower allocation.
Safety & Quality
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in field execution and production efficiency.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of project management experience in mass excavation, earthmoving, civil construction, or site development.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial earthwork projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership experience managing field and project teams.
  • Solid understanding of earthwork production, grading operations, and job cost management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced field environments.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction/project management software preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Southeast.
