Job summary

Amphenol CIT’s Project Manager I will serve as the primary contact on customer-specific and internal projects, establishing plans, maintaining schedules, and controlling scope within budget to ensure timely delivery. You will report progress and manage RAiLS, while coaching teammates and driving continuous improvement.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or four years of PM experience, English fluency, and is based in a location with travel up to 10%.

Project Manager I

The Project Manager I acts as the primary point of contact (POC) on customer‑specific and internally driven projects. As the POC, he or she will establish and maintain project plans, recurring action item lists (RAILS), report progress internally and externally, and manage the scope of work per the defined financial budget and deliverable schedule to ensure successful project completion.

Essential Job Functions
  • Managing project development and execution from initiation to closure.
  • Working with the project sponsor (internal or external) for the initiation and execution of the phase‑gate process.
  • Developing and maintaining the project schedule from launch to completion.
  • Communicating clearly the project expectations to the project sponsor and team members.
  • Resolving issues and solving problems throughout the project cycle.
  • Preparing bills and invoices, as well as budgetary and progress reports.
  • Delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Tracking and providing compliance reports on project budget and milestone schedule to the project sponsor and management as requested.
  • Leading, coaching, and motivating members of the project team.
  • Capturing project results and leading post‑project evaluations to determine the level of team success and need for process improvements.
  • Working to become an industry and internal expert (knowledge resource) on the products and systems for which they are responsible.
  • Building, developing, and growing any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Leading or assisting efforts in creating statements of work when such is not provided by the customer.
  • Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential risks, and devising contingency plans.
  • Developing customer relationships and maintaining them.
  • Continuously improving processes, documents, and reports.
  • Contributing to the team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized work environment and adhering to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Adhering to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of project management or similar experience required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other Project Management accredited certifications (CAPM) preferred.
Language Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Job Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and function comfortably in a fast‑paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
  • Understanding and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment preferred; participation in continuous improvement projects and 5S performance teams.
  • Team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization, possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Writing skills are required to complete documents and forms.
Physical Demands

The employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer, frequently use hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. The employee may also need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding.   • Hearing protection in specific locations.
  • Ability to comply with JSA in specific areas.
