Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in construction.
• Experience with subcontractors in electrical/utility/infrastructure.
• Experience managing projects from award to closeout.
• Experience creating and managing project budgets.
• Experience with POs, material procurement, and monthly billing.
• Familiarity with change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
• Understanding of job costing, forecasting, and financial management.

5+ years of experience functioning as a Project Manager within construction

Experience working for a subcontractor, preferably within electrical, utility, infrastructure, or specialty contracting

Experience managing projects from award through closeout

Experience creating and managing project budgets

Experience with:

Purchase Orders (POs)

Material procurement

Monthly billing

Change orders

RFIs and project documentation

Experience coordinating directly with foremen, superintendents, and field personnel

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Project Manager to join the Underground Division. This individual will be responsible for managing underground electrical infrastructure projects from award through closeout, supporting work primarily related to duct bank systems, utility coordination, and underground electrical construction throughout Florida.

The ideal candidate comes from a subcontractor environment and has experience managing project setup, procurement, budgeting, billing, field coordination, and project execution. This is primarily an office-based role that works closely with foremen and superintendents to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Day-to-Day

Take over projects once they are awarded from the estimating team

Set up project budgets and establish jobs in the company's system

Coordinate permitting, utility requirements, and project startup activities

Manage material procurement, vendor relationships, and purchase orders

Work closely with foremen and superintendents to support field operations

Ensure crews have the equipment and materials necessary for successful project execution

Monitor project costs, budget performance, and financial health

Process monthly billings and cost tracking

Manage change orders, notices, RFIs, and project documentation

Coordinate with utilities, municipalities, vendors, and internal stakeholders

Drive projects from inception through closeout

Ideal Candidate

Comes from an electrical subcontractor or utility infrastructure contractor

Has experience managing underground electrical or duct bank projects

Understands excavation, trenching, utility coordination, and permitting

Can independently run project financials, procurement, billing, and change management

Has enough technical knowledge to understand the installation process and coordinate effectively with field leadership, even if they are not the technical expert performing the work
