Job summary

Verst Logistics is looking for a Project Manager in the Operations department to lead complex projects from inception to completion, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure on-time delivery.

You will organize resources, review vendor proposals, develop project plans, and train the operations team for ongoing maintenance. The role reports to the VP of Warehousing and Fulfillment and is exempt.

Qualifications

  • College degree in Business or related field with at least two years of progressively responsible project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent; excellent technical skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to prioritize projects.
  • Attention to detail and quality control.
  • Must be an effective delegator, problem solver and be able to resolve conflict.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work long hours when applicable.
  • Ability to develop KPIs and identify trends.
  • Ability to develop, review and change processes.
  • Ability to develop and publish documentation and training material.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and troubleshoot errors.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast pace environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong business management and facilitation skills also necessary.
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office and project related software applications; accurate typing/copywriting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and secure appropriate resources for projects; review, assess and analyze vendor proposals.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of recommended solutions into production. Monitor progress goals of new projects.
  • Document technical requirements, develop and oversee project plans and implement change control procedures.
  • Develop, train and transition processes to operations team for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams.
  • Facilitates and troubleshoots the myriad of problems associated with developing complex systems or with coordinating and development, and design projects.
  • Provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries about projects.
  • Chairs various project review and project planning meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains liaison as required with boards, committees and commissions.
  • Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates schedules of staff and other interested parties as it relates to project delivery.
  • Run, maintain and distribute project planning reports.
  • Travel as necessary to support startup operations.

Position Summary

Manages all aspects of complex projects from inception to conclusion; acts as a liaison between Operations and stake holders within all departments to deliver project completion on time.

Job Specifications
  1. College degree in Business or related field with at least two years of progressively responsible project management experience including at least two years of experience in project management or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Will accept 5+ years’ experience in related field in lieu of a degree.
