Job summary

CS Group USA seeks a highly experienced Project Manager to lead avionics and embedded systems development programs for aerospace customers. You will serve as the main interface to customers and internal leadership, driving program execution and certification using EVM, Agile/Scrum practices, and QMS.

The role allows onsite (CT) or hybrid work arrangements, with travel of six to eight weeks per year and collaboration across multiple U.S. states.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant engineering or business discipline.
  • 12+ years industry experience with 7+ years in formal leadership roles.
  • Experience in avionics and embedded systems development or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of EVM, Agile/Scrum, and Agile roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead avionics and embedded systems development programs from initiation to delivery and certification.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customers, engineering teams, and executives.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resources.
  • Drive program execution using EVM, metrics, and agile/lean practices.
  • Apply Quality Management Systems (QMS) and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior and upcoming managers.

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead complex avionics and embedded systems development programs for aerospace customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing engineering projects involving avionics, embedded systems, DO-178, and/or DO-254 environments, while serving as a key interface to customers and internal leadership teams.

This role requires an individual who can operate independently, manage multiple stakeholders, drive program execution, and effectively support frequent customer interactions. Local candidates are strongly preferred due to the high level of onsite collaboration and customer meetings.

Location: The role can be onsite (CT) or hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Lead avionics and embedded systems development programs from project initiation through delivery and certification in alignment with contracts and project plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resource planning.
  • Drive program execution using multiple management techniques including, but not limited to, Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, standard metrics, and agile/lean techniques.
  • Understand and apply Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Systems, Software, Hardware, Test, and Certification teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and respond to difficult situations while minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Guide, mentor and train junior and upcoming managers.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years industry experience with 7+ years experience in formal leadership roles.
  • Background in avionics and embedded systems development or equivalent industry.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Earned Value Management (EVM)
    • Agile/Scrum
    • Agile Product Owner expectations
    • Agile/Scrum Master expectations
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects with minimal technical and managerial support.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed.
  • Able to travel approximately six to eight weeks in a year.
