Job summary

Roers is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee overall planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and project accounting for general construction projects. The role provides technical direction and ensures adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating labor, materials, and equipment; preparing budgets and cost tracking; ensuring compliance with codes; negotiating contracts; and leading teams across multiple projects on-site and in-office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of construction project experience.
  • Procore and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Determine labor requirements and coordinate workers on sites.
  • Inspect projects for compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Explain plans and contract terms to staff, field teams, and clients.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Study job specs to determine construction methods.
  • Select and oversee workers for individual project pieces (e.g., painting, plumbing).
  • Requisition supplies and materials; develop budget estimates and cost tracking.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Address delays or emergencies at construction sites.
  • Discuss work procedures and resolve issues with supervisors, owners and designers.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities for construction and startup/closeout.

Job description

Summary of position:

Responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control for general construction projects while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

  • Charting out the project plans and objectives, setting performance requirements, and managing the overall process.
  • Bringing about optimum utilization of resources- labor, materials, and equipment, and ensuring their procurement at the most cost-effective terms.
  • Implementation of various operations through proper coordination
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Determine labor requirements and coordinate workers for construction sites.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, field staff, and clients.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or plumbing.
  • Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems including start up and project closeout.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
  • Oversee cost accounting for projects, including analyzing progress and assisting with compiling monthly billings.

Work Environment:

The job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and other customary office equipment. This position will also occasionally be on-site.
