Job summary

IPS Technology Services is seeking a Project Manager for a remote role requiring relocation to Southeast Michigan. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of project management experience, especially in the health or insurance industry, alongside proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

This long-term contract features full lifecycle project management responsibilities, including the development of project plans and the facilitation of user acceptance testing. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Job Title: Project Manager
Location: REMOTE (has to relocate to SE MI)
Long Term Contract

• Project management (5+ years)
• Health, or Insurance industry background (3+ years or combination thereof)
• Experience managing projects using Waterfall (5+ years) and Agile methodologies (3+ years)

Engagement Description

• Support/facilitate business case and business requirements development
• Facilitate project business decision making
• Develop and manage complete end-to-end project plan which includes business implementation, readiness, and technical milestones
• Compile status reports reflecting all aspects of project execution including business implementation, readiness and technical inputs
• Work with all project stakeholders to resolve project issues or mitigate risks
• Facilitate the development of User Acceptance Testing scenarios and business approvals
• Facilitate defect tracking and resolution in coordination with IT
• Provide consolidated (business and IT) project status reporting, verbally and in writing
• Ensure proper transition of ongoing business activities prior to project closure
• Support business readiness activities including workgroup breakout sessions, process, and procedure development.

• Full project lifecycle experience. Ability to execute effectively to PMBOK’s 10 knowledge areas.
• Management. Experience with leading by influence. Knows what is required to guide and unite cross‑functional groups. Familiar with third party vendor management, procurement, and the steps/processes that drive their general lifecycle.
• Critical thinking. Contemplates the broader picture within the context of the details. Understands how to balance pros and cons.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Familiar with work management tools used for issue/requirements tracking (epics, stories, subtasks) and test case management – such as Atlassian JIRA.
• Certification, formal education, or equivalent professional experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, Quality.
• Basic knowledge of database concepts and design, layouts, report building, etc.

Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in - Business Management, Finance, IT, Information Science, Library Science, or related healthcare administration field

Certifications Desired – PMP (preferred), PgMP
