Job summary

Horizon Building Group in Michigan seeks a Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and closeout of commercial construction projects, ensuring client satisfaction, schedule adherence, and profitability.

You will manage contracts, budgets, change orders, submittals, RFIs, permits, and coordination with owners, architects, and subcontractors, while guiding field teams and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of project management experience with a commercial General Contractor or Construction Manager.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, contract administration, and cost control.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and financial reporting tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and execution from pre-construction through closeout.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and facilitate clear, effective communication with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
• Prepare, issue, and manage subcontractors and purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
• Oversee change management processes, including documentation, pricing, approvals, and execution.
• Develop, maintain, and update project budget, job costs reports, and financial forecasts.
• Assist the accounting team with customer invoicing, billing reviews, and revenue tracking.
• Obtain required permits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide Project Superintendents with the tools, information, and support necessary to successfully manage daily field operations.
• Conduct regular site visits and lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.
• Track and process submittals and RFIs in a timely and organized manner.
• Monitor project performance to ensure projects are completed on schedule and on or under budget.
• Maintain strong client relationships through proactive, transparent, and solution-oriented communication.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve project issues, mitigate risk, and support continuous improvement.
• Assist with estimating, bid preparation, and project handoff as needed.
• Follow established process controls and Horizon’s standards for effective project management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support company and project goals.
