Shawmut Design and Construction in Maryland’s Columbia area seeks a Project Manager to lead hotel renovation projects with a sharp client focus and a collaborative approach across estimating, purchasing and field teams.

You will manage multiple projects, drive profitability, and ensure schedules and budgets are met while maintaining exceptional service for clients, subcontractors, and staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in commercial/hospitality renovations over $5M.
• Direct leadership and staff development responsibility.
• Highly organized with strong client focus.
• Experience with Timberline and Procore or similar PM tools.
• Willingness to travel for business.

Responsibilities

• Developing a purchasing schedule and strategy to address purchasing challenges in pre-construction.
• Collaborating with Estimating and Purchasing to set up projects for profitability and client satisfaction.
• Working with Project Superintendent to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule.
• Thorough completion of financial data to identify issues affecting financial performance.
• Maintaining relationships to reinforce world-class customer service with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Project Manager with a great attitude, strong client focus, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment to join our Maryland Team.

• Developing a purchasing schedule and strategy to anticipate, address and resolve purchasing challenges during the initial stages of pre-construction.
• Collaborating with Estimating and Purchasing in setting up of projects to insure profitability, client satisfaction and the best subcontractors for the project.
• Working in partnership with the Project Superintendent to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule.
• Thorough completion of all financial data with an eye to quickly identify potential/existing issues that could lead to subpar financial performance.
• Maintaining and developing relationships to reinforce a commitment to world-class customer service across the board: including co-workers, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the design community.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience building multiple projects at a time specifically in Commercial, Tenant Interiors, Hospitality (Hotels), or other occupied spaces such as healthcare renovations upwards of $5M.
• Direct responsibility for leading and developing staff.
• Highly organized, client focused, and ability to connect.
• Experience with Timberline, and Procore or similar project management tools required.
• Must have the flexibility for required business travel.
