Job summary

Sierra Lobo, Inc. in Ohio seeks a senior Project Manager with 15+ years in space flight or aerospace development to lead lifecycle cost and schedule management.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams through requirements, verification, delivery and sustainment, interfacing with NASA and subcontractors to ensure delivery of critical hardware. The role requires expertise in project scheduling, cost control, and gate reviews, with on-site work at the Brook Park facility.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or related engineering field.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on aerospace projects.
  • Knowledge of spaceflight standards and regulations.
  • Experience managing $10M+ projects with aggressive schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and support staff through aerospace lifecycle from requirements to sustainment.
  • With scheduler, create and update resource-loaded schedules and ensure sequencing.
  • Perform monthly cost/schedule analysis for the customer.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors for critical components.
  • Interface with NASA and subcontractors to align deliverables.
  • Coordinate with quality and technician staff to realize hardware systems.
  • Lead gate review package construction and closure actions.

Overview

Sierra Lobo offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position is located at our Brook Park Ohio facility.

Seeking a project manager with 15+ years space flight or aerospace related development experience including lifecycle cost and schedule management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering and support staff team through aerospace lifecycle from requirements formulation through system verification, delivery and post-delivery sustainment.
  • With support from project scheduler, create and update resource loaded schedule to ensure tasks are properly sequenced and completed.
  • Perform monthly cost/schedule analysis to update customer.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors for delivery of critical components.
  • Interface with both NASA and subcontractors to negotiate deliverables and requirements.
  • Interface with quality and technician staff to support hardware system realization.
  • Lead gate review package construction and post-review action closure.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or related engineering field.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical personnel on space flight and/or aerospace projects.
  • Experience with space flight and/or aerospace standards and regulations.
  • Experience managing $10m+ projects with aggressive schedules (less than two year life cycle).
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) or related certification desired.

Physical Requirements

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and phone skills.

Ability to hear normal conversation. One eye (minimum) correctable to 20/20.

Office equipment includes computers (basic excel, PC Data processing), calculators, FAX, copier, scanner, printers. Personal transportation vehicle.

Criticality of Attendance

Work assignments are usually during normal daily work hours.
