Job summary

Sierra Lobo in Brook Park, Ohio, is seeking an experienced project manager with 15+ years in space flight or aerospace development to lead programs from requirements through verification and sustainment.

The role requires coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, managing schedule and cost, and interfacing with NASA and contractors to deliver complex propulsion and related systems.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or related engineering field.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical personnel on space flight and/or aerospace projects.
  • Experience with space flight and/or aerospace standards and regulations.
  • Experience managing $10m+ projects with aggressive schedules (less than two year life cycle).
  • PMI or related certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering and support staff through aerospace lifecycle from requirements formulation through system verification, delivery and post-delivery sustainment.
  • With support from project scheduler, create and update resource loaded schedule to ensure tasks are properly sequenced and completed.
  • Perform monthly cost/schedule analysis to update customer.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors for delivery of critical components.
  • Interface with NASA and subcontractors to negotiate deliverables and requirements.
  • Interface with quality and technician staff to support hardware system realization.
  • Lead gate review package construction and post-review action closure.

Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position is located at our Brook Park Ohio facility.

Seeking a project manager with 15+ years space flight or aerospace related development experience including lifecycle cost and schedule management.

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or related engineering field.
    • Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical personnel on space flight and/or aerospace projects.
    • Experience with space flight and/or aerospace standards and regulations.
    • Experience managing $10m+ projects with aggressive schedules (less than two year life cycle).
    • Project Management Institute (PMI) or related certification desired.
  • Essential Functions of the Position
    • Physical Requirements
      • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and phone skills.
      • Ability to hear normal conversation. One eye (minimum) correctable to 20/20.
    • Work Environment
      • On site.
    • Equipment and Machines Involved in Work Task
      • Office equipment includes computers (basic excel, PC Data processing), calculators, fax, copier, scanner, printers. Personal transportation vehicle.
    • Criticality of Attendance
      • Work assignments are usually during normal daily work hours.
