Job summary

Urrly in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a project manager who can turn complex customer requirements, contract scope, and cross-functional engineering work into shipped software for aerospace and defense. You will own planning, delivery, and coordination with customers, engineering, QA, and product partners, guiding projects through scope, schedule, budget, and risk in a Scrum/Agile environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer-funded software projects from kickoff through completion, keeping work aligned to contractual scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, action items, risks, issues, and decision items.
  • Translate statements of work, contract modifications, and customer requirements into development activities and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide forward-looking project planning with attention to upcoming tasks, due dates, resource availability, and delivery commitments.
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, manage key milestones, and summarize project progress for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers on assigned projects.
  • Lead recurring status meetings, technical discussions, demonstrations, training coordination, and project reviews.
  • Prepare customer-facing reports, presentations, project plans, meeting materials, and contract deliverables.
  • Identify known customer needs and route them to the appropriate team members.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with team members, vendors, customers, and departments contributing to project delivery.
  • Coordinate with technical leads, developers, QA personnel, product managers, application engineers, design engineers, and architecture partners to establish priorities and monitor progress.
  • Support product and release planning activities, including roadmap reviews, sprint planning, readiness reviews, and deployment coordination.
  • Identify risks, issues, roadblocks and resource constraints early; develop mitigation plans and elevate concerns when needed.
  • Coordinate interdependent projects by managing resources, dependencies, priorities, and timing across teams.
  • Help define and improve processes and standards for software and operations teams.
  • Provide and track accurate forecast spending, project financials, milestones, and delivery dates.
  • Give employees task assignments with defined objectives, due dates, and estimated hours.
  • Support quarterly and annual planning with attention to past performance and future efforts.
  • Track, report, and review companywide KPIs, including revenue numbers and progress against priorities.
  • Communicate milestone status clearly and consistently so leaders, customers, and delivery teams understand where projects stand.

You will work with engineers, product partners, QA, technical leads, and customers to keep strategic, customer-funded software projects moving across scope, schedule, budget, risk, and delivery.

Our client is a rapidly growing aerospace and defense technology company headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Its software supports military maintenance organizations and large commercial aircraft manufacturers, helping improve aircraft safety, reliability, production rates, and cost efficiency.

This role provides overall project management for assigned strategic projects that support business growth and improve operating efficiency across a growing software company. You will manage work tied to long-range planning and near-term delivery goals in a Scrum/Agile environment, while also coordinating tasks, deadlines, status, and expectations with customers.

What You Will Own
Project planning and delivery

Compensation
