Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a Project Manager to deliver operational excellence on drilling, rehab, or pump installation projects. You will forecast revenue and costs, coordinate with estimators and operations, manage resources, and ensure profitability and safety on site.

The role requires a BS degree (preferred) and 1+ years of construction project management experience, with strong leadership and communication skills to build lasting client partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast project revenue and costs to meet profitability goals.
  • Coordinate with estimators and controls to establish budgets.
  • Interact with business development and operations to allocate resources and meet schedules.
  • Participate in bid reviews to ensure feasibility and accuracy of bids.
  • Generate purchase orders, obtain subcontractor quotes, and track materials and safety credentials.
  • Facilitate effective communication between superintendents and area management.
  • Maintain accurate project reports for performance improvement.
  • Drive projects to meet margins and align with safety initiatives.

We’re building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.General SummaryThis position is responsible for delivering operational excellence and ensuring client satisfaction on assigned water well drilling, well rehab or pump installation and repair projects, including engaged people, well-maintained equipment, and exceptional safety.Essential Job Functions:Perform accurate project revenue and cost forecasting to ensure profitability goals are met.Coordinate with estimators and project controls group to establish budget.Coordinate efforts with business development and operations teams to manage resources to meet project schedule.Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure accuracy of bid and evaluate project feasibility; work with business development team to develop bid schedule.Generate purchase orders, gather subcontractor and equipment or material quotes, establish relationships with vendors, generate invoices, and keep track of field crew safety credentials.Provide environment where dynamic project communication occurs between Superintendents and Area Manager to ensure work is accomplished in an efficient, profitable, and safe manner.Ensure proper job controls, i.e. quantities, costs, revenue and schedule.Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with the client base.Ensure accurate project reports for the job, allowing for continuous improvement in performance.Run projects at profitability levels to meet or exceed expected margins.Understand, comply with, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.Education and Experience:BS degree preferred1+ years of project management experience in water well drilling or a construction environmentKnowledge of water well drilling or similar industry practices.Maintain the ability to work in a high-production environment.Demonstrated decision-making, excellent leadership, supervisory, communication, and organizational skills.Accuracy at all times.LAYNEOur Benefits at a Glance:Building tomorrow starts with you, and Granite knows that you can excel only if we support you in and out of the workplace.
