Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager to join our Civil, Municipal, and Land Survey Group in Chicago. You will provide production support for civil engineering and land development projects, prepare design/construction documents, and train staff in Civil 3D.

The role emphasizes CAD standards development, in-house training, and collaboration with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and edit civil design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including site grading, utilities, and stormwater systems.
• Assist with stormwater management designs, calculations, and plan production.
• Support project engineers in the development of construction documents for municipal and private projects.
• Provide technical help desk support for design software and CAD-related questions.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of CAD standards.
• Conduct in-house CAD training sessions for team members.
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation per company standards.

Education

Associate’s or Technical Degree in Computer Graphics for Construction, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a related field

Job description

We have an immediate opening as a Project Managerto join our Civil, Municipal, and Land Survey Group. The ideal candidate will provide production support for a variety of civil engineering and land development projects. This role involves preparing design and construction documents, offering technical support to staff, assisting in the development of CAD standards, and providing in-house Civil 3D training and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Technical Degreein Computer Graphics for Construction, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3Dis required.
• Experience with stormwater designand drainage system layouts strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding ofcivil design and construction principlesthrough education or work experience.
• Excellentcommunication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
