Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of network infrastructure and cabling projects within a site. The PM will oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination to ensure on-time, on-budget execution and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling, and a proven track record managing mission-critical programs. PMP or telecom certs are preferred; relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years direct work experience in construction/ data centers or cabling.
  • Proven record delivering mission critical programs on time and within budget.
  • Must meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and administration.
  • Experience building and leading teams.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring direct reports and vendor teams.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills across disciplines.
  • Client engagement experience in similar programs.
  • Understanding program management fundamentals (EVM, SPI, CPI).
  • PMP or similar certification preferred.
  • BICSI RCDD or similar telecom certifications preferred.

  • Identify and procure resources to meet changing needs.
  • Evaluate constructability and feasibility during pre-construction; oversee cost estimates.
  • Schedule project steps and allocate labor to sites.
  • Coordinate with superintendents and travel for technicians.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions with designers, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Obtain permits and licenses; supervise on-site team.
  • Monitor compliance with codes, safety, and quality standards.
  • Lead risk management and communicate program status to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project schedule and financial plan; manage change control.

This position will require the individual to havedevelopment, management, customer engagement, operational and overallleadership skills. The Project Manager is responsible for the entire successful execution of aproject. Their primary responsibilities are to plan, direct, coordinate, andbudget activities concerned with the construction of their project. The ProjectManager shall also participate and at times leadthe conceptual development of a construction project and oversee itsorganization, estimating, scheduling, and implementation.

What You Will Be Doing

  • The project manager is accountable foreffective project management and delivery of their projects.
  • The PMwill work with the extended site team to develop the program schedule andestablish key milestones for delivery of the program ensuring all financialtargets and schedule targets are met in alignment to the customers' goals.
  • The PM will identify and acquire allresources required by revising as appropriate tomeet changing needs and requirements.
  • During thepre-construction phase, continuously evaluate the materials and products beingproposed for constructability and feasibility. Oversee and at times prepare thecost estimate at multiple stages. Initiate and coordinate the design effortsand the value of engineering processes.
  • Schedule the project in logical steps andbudget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Determine labor requirements and dispatchworkers to construction sites.
  • Facilitate travel for technicianstraveling to the project site.
  • Coordinates with the superintendent.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitorcompliance with codes and other regulations.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contractterms to staff, workers, and clients representing the owner.
  • Preparecontracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractualagreements with designers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Obtain all necessary permits andlicenses.
  • Direct andsupervise team members in the office and on-site.
  • Study job specifications to determineappropriate construction means and methods.
  • Solicit, negotiate, select, contract, andoversee material suppliers, subcontractors who complete specific pieces of theproject.
  • Requisition of supplies and materials tocomplete construction projects.
  • Prepareand submit budget estimates and progress, and cost tracking reports.
  • Develop and implement quality controlprograms
  • Take action to deal with the results ofdelays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel,owners, contractors, and designers to discuss and resolve matters such as workprocedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activitiesconcerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, andsystems.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delaysat construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Evaluate construction meansto determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
  • Manage, cost/budget, and communicate the contractchanges process.
  • Developing and maintaining the projectschedule
  • Develop and maintain the projectfinancial plan
  • Prepare, maintain, and complete allaspects of the DL Way (project management playbook).
  • Completes all weekly and monthlyreporting and projections.
  • Train and develop project team
  • Responsible for timely preparation ofbilling to Invoice the client
  • Equipment and material purchasing
  • TheProject Manager reviews all job cost postings for accuracy and completeness,including but not limited to, the preparation of invoices, customer collections,and periodic financial reporting to the customer and management.
  • The PMwill additionally manage all associated aspects of the program including theSafety & Environment program, the quality assurance program, and materiallogistics.
  • The Project Manager willrecruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and discharge, ifnecessary, all project related staff.
  • The Project Manager willmanage all human resource issues (and escalate as needed) per Company policiesand procedures.
  • Coordinate and partnereffectively with internal and external design, construction, network, andfacility partners.
  • Proactively communicateprogram status and risks to all stakeholders
  • Prepare and take correctiveaction to address concerns and challenges.
  • The Project Manager acts as the Companyliaison to the client for the program maintaining a high level of clientsatisfaction, ensuring a collaborative environment across all parties.
  • The project manager is expected to be onthe job site and be present for active on-site project managementresponsibilities.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’sdegree in computer science, business management, electrical engineering,construction management, or similar experience.
  • 5+ years of direct workexperience in any of these areas: construction management, data centers, orstructured cabling environment.
  • Track record of deliveringmission critical programs on time, within budget, and to applicable build, quality,and safety standards.
  • Must be able to meet MotorVehicle Record requirements
  • Proficient with MicrosoftOffice
  • Contract negotiation andadministration experience
  • Experience building andleading teams.
  • Experience in assessing, coaching,and mentoring direct reports and vendor teams.
  • Organizational, timemanagement and coordination skills across multiple disciplines preferred.
  • Client Engagement experiencein similar programs
  • Understandingprogram management fundamentals such as earned value management, SPI, CPI, andother project tracking metrics.
  • Project ManagementProfessional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred
  • BICSI RCDD or similarTelecommunications certifications preferred
