Job summary

AtWork Personnel | Charlotte East is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple fence and guardrail construction projects throughout the Southeast. The ideal candidate will manage field operations, supervise installation crews, and ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule.

Key responsibilities include coordinating resources, monitoring performance, and building strong customer relationships. A strong background in construction project management is required, along with excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management within construction or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

Location:

Indian Trail, NC (Travel throughout NC, SC, TN, and GA as needed)

Compensation:
  • Performance Bonus: Up to $50,000 annually, paid bi-annually
  • $1,000/month vehicle allowance or company vehicle provided
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple fence and guardrail construction projects throughout the Southeast. This position is responsible for managing field operations, supervising Foremen and installation crews, coordinating project resources, monitoring production, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The Project Manager serves as the primary link between field operations, logistics, customers, and senior management to ensure successful project execution from planning through completion.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Crew Management
  • Supervise multiple construction crews and projects simultaneously.
  • Provide leadership and support to Foremen and field personnel.
  • Monitor project schedules and adjust resources as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Foremen to review performance, staffing needs, equipment requirements, production goals, and safety concerns.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to company quality standards and safety requirements.
Project Planning & Execution
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Perform project take-offs and verify material requirements.
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate labor, equipment, and material resources.
  • Coordinate utility locating activities and ensure compliance before construction begins.
  • Conduct site visits and project inspections as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide project updates, address scheduling concerns, and manage change orders.
  • Build strong customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Production & Performance Monitoring
  • Track daily production, labor utilization, equipment usage, and material consumption.
  • Monitor project performance against schedules, budgets, and production targets.
  • Identify project risks and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Review project progress and provide regular updates to leadership.
Equipment & Resource Management
  • Ensure crews properly maintain and operate equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project records, daily reports, change orders, and production documentation.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of all project-related paperwork.
  • Participate in project review and scheduling meetings.
  • Assist with forecasting manpower, equipment, and material needs.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within construction, infrastructure, highway, civil, fencing, guardrail, utilities, or related industries.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, production tracking, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in highway and/or commercial construction required
  • Experience managing field construction crews and Foremen.
  • Knowledge of production tracking, job costing, and project reporting.
