Job summary

EM Structural is seeking a mid-level structural engineer with 7–15 years of experience to join a growing team. You will perform hand calculations, use RAM, ETABS, and AutoCAD/Revit to develop project documents and lead design efforts for concrete, steel, and timber structures.

You should have an MS in Civil Engineering (structural), EIT or PE preferred, strong communication, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• MS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• EIT or EI certification, PE preferred.
• Experience with structural materials: steel, concrete, wood, masonry.
• Proficient with RAM, ETABS, AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations based on engineering principles and building code requirements.
• Utilize RAM, ETABS, AutoCAD and Revit to produce project documents.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on project teams.
• Attend on-site meetings and inspections during construction.
• Prepare formal written reports for clients summarizing observations.

Job description

EM Structural is looking for a mid level structural engineer (7-15 year’s experience) who wants to be part of a growing team of engineers, works well on a team, and is self motivated. As a mid level structural engineer, you will be expected to have working knowledge of several different construction types including concrete, steel, and timber; and be able to perform designs independently with oversight from a Principal or Senior Project Manager. Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations based on engineering principles and building code requirements.
• Utilize a variety of engineering software packages in computer aided design.
• Be responsible for the production of project documents for client submissions.
• Attended on site project meetings and inspections for projects during construction.
• Prepare formal written reports for clients summarizing on site observations.
• Interact with clients on continual basis during the project design.
• Be able to lead and mentor younger engineers as part of a project team.

Qualifications

• M.S. in Civil Engineering, structural emphasis.
• E.I.T. (or E.I.) certification, PE preferred.
• Relevant experience with building materials including: structural steel, mild concrete, post-tensioned concrete, wood, and masonry.
• Familiar with computer analysis packages including: Bentley Suite (RAM), Computers & Structures Suite (ETABS).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
