Job summary

KS INDUSTRIES, LP is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee construction and maintenance crews across multiple sites in the field. You will coordinate safety, scheduling, budgets and client communications to ensure project goals are met on time and within scope.

Responsibilities include supervising crews, leading meetings, mentoring foremen, and ensuring compliance with safety programs and company SOPs while actively controlling costs and resources.

Qualifications

Position Description
General Summary

A Project Manager is responsible to know the need of the customer as well as the needs of the supervision that the position is responsible for.

Essential Job Functions
  1. 1. Regular and reliable attendance.
  2. 2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
  3. 3. Must possess a current and valid Driver License with clean driving record.
  4. 4. Attends customer meetings assisting with estimating, cost control, resources loading, project performance and improvement.
  5. 5. Makes critical decisions, technical analysis and is key customers interface. Documents and shares project learning’s with the customer, management and field supervision.
  6. 6. Effectively communicates with supervision, crew members and customers to set and maintain works standards.
  7. 7. Responsible for completing all associate paperwork needed in a timely manner.
  8. 8. Effectively resolves conflict and takes appropriate personnel actions by recognizing and addressing any issues.
  9. 9. Accountable at a senior level, for all the results of all crews at construction or maintenance sites.
  10. 10. Eliminates barriers affecting the internal customer’s performance and approves employee development plans.
  11. 11. May assist crews as necessary, in order to perform a job efficiently and safely, utilize scope and risk management tools. Acts as the project coach and leader.
  12. 12. Conducts safe work and performs behavioral based safety audits, understands and follows work schedules, understands mechanical drawings and constructability analysis to ensure quality, productivity and safety.
  13. 13. Makes occasional job site inspections to oversee the execution of the work, including quality and production.
  14. 14. Be on call twenty-four hours a day and must respond in emergency situations.
  15. 15. Utilizes CI tools to reduce job cost and KSI’s cost of doing business also reports on crew production, work progress and change, communicate budget concerns to supervision.
  16. 16. Coach and mentor fellow crew members and actively involve the Behavioral Safety Process, observer/coach/Steering Team Rep and provide team building skills.
  17. 17. Monitors B-BEST, ISEA, SOP, and Near Hit process.
  18. 18. Develop knowledge of KSI PPM-SOPs and refer to the SOP Manual prior to each task.
  19. 19. Follow all KS Industries, LLC safety, and customer policies and procedures.
  20. 20. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed.

  • Ability to read and write in English

  • Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.)

  • Ability to handle administrative duties of position, including completion of required documents
  • Knowledge of Stop Work Authority (SWA)
  • Ability to complete training for Behavioral Safety Process
  • OHSA policies and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of Foreman levels
  • Ability to comprehend company and project safety programs and objectives
  • Effectively lead crews and run meetings in a productive manner
  • Ability to coach and teach foremen and crew members
  • Ability to assess crew skills
  • Encourage, foster and manage differences and diversity on the job site
  • Ability to effectively use time management skills

Education and Experience

Have 8 years or more of industry experience along with knowledge of tools.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Lifting/Pulling/Jerking/Grasping/Raising/Lowering: Must be able to lift, grasp up to 50 lbs. with the use of fingers, palm and wrists to hold and/or manipulate objects (hammers, saws, pencils, pens etc.) Must be able to raise and lower objects from one level to another. x

Squatting/Twisting/Bend/Reaching/Stooping/Squatting/Kneeling: Must be able to twist, squat kneel and bend in various positions with or without objects. x

Push: Must be able to exert force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force. x

Carry/Support: Must be able to carry and provide support to objects, usually holding it in hands, arms and/or on the shoulders. x

Body Positions; Supine/Seated/Standing: Must be able to work in a supine, seated or standing position. x

Working Conditions:

The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.

Working Hours:

Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-10’s and weekends. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
