Job summary

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in architecture or preservation; architectural registration preferred.
  • 5–10+ years of project management and project delivery experience.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience with education-sector or renovation/preservation projects is a plus.
  • Preferred: Chapter 149/149A experience, including procurement phase.

  • Manage project scope, schedule, fee, and team assignments.
  • Serve as primary client contact and coordinate effectively with consultants.

  • Support project planning using benchmarks, cost data, and code research.
  • Facilitate client meetings and represent the firm professionally.
  • Travel as required for site work and client engagement.

Goody Clancy seeks a Project Manager to join our collaborative and mission‑driven team. As a Boston‑based education design firm, we partner with institutions on a variety of new‑construction, renewal, and preservation projects to create environments where people are inspired to research, connect, strive, and wonder. Project Managers actively engage in all project phases and are given many opportunities for growth and continued learning. The best candidate for this position will have experience and/or a demonstrated interest in education projects, and a familiarity in historic preservation/building renovations is a plus. We are looking for creative, collaborative, and motivated professionals who are driven by a belief in the power of design to advance discovery, community, and opportunity.

Position Summary

In this role, you will guide project teams through the full design and delivery process, ensuring clear communication, effective coordination, and strong project performance. You will work closely with internal leadership, design and technical staff, and external partners to advance project goals and maintain a high standard of quality. You’ll take the lead in shaping project direction, managing key milestones and resources, and fostering productive client relationships. Your work will also involve on‑site engagement, informed planning supported by research and analysis, and representing the firm in a professional and thoughtful manner.

Qualifications
  • Professional degree in architecture or preservation; architectural registration preferred
  • 5–10+ years of project management and project delivery experience
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as MS Office
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to team leadership
  • Ability to make design and technical decisions grounded in experience
  • Experience with education‑sector or renovation/preservation projects is a plus
  • Preferred: Chapter 149 & Chapter 149A experience, including the procurement phase
