Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Battery Storage EPC projects in the Americas. The role involves directing project teams across engineering, procurement, and commissioning, with up to 20% travel to Minnesota and NYC sites in the US.

You will report to the Director, Project Management Canada and drive financial and customer satisfaction improvements throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of project management experience in power/energy sectors.
• Experience with P&L responsibility is preferred.
• BS/BA in electrical or civil engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to travel up to 20% to project sites.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage (BESS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The role of a Project Manager is to lead projects to the satisfactory completion of all stakeholders. He or she is the valued and trusted partner of the customer and the project team, increasing the business performance, reducing the project risks and enhancing the reputation of our business. The Project Manager will work with the Battery Storage organization based in the Americas, reporting to the Director, Project Management Canada. This role requires up to 20% travel to suppliers, client sites, site installations, commissioning, and meetings in the US (Minnesota/NYC).

Day to Day:1. Manage and direct execution of complex (Energy, Storage, Construction) EPC projects for Battery Energy Storage Projects2. Provide leadership and guidance to the entire project team consisting of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, business administration, customers, suppliers, sales and senior management.3. Perform project planning with customer, the Fluence project team and suppliers. Document and communicate initial project plan and changes to the plan.4. Lead the implementation effort of the project until its satisfactory completion.5. Improve the financial performance of the project while maintaining and enhancing customer and project team satisfaction.6. Transfer the project after completion to the service organization.7. Support our sales organization in the acquisition of future projects.8. Participate in business improvement projects.9. Proactively document and share lessons learned.

Skills and Requirements

• 5–8 years of overall industry experience, ideally within power, energy, oil & gas, nuclear, or a similar industry, with project management experience and exposure to P&L responsibility.
• Ability to travel up to 20% to project sites in Minnesota and New York City.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with attention to detail, and the ability to confidently communicate with customers in a client-facing environment.
• Experience and knowledge of BESS (Battery Energy Storage)
• BS/BA in a similar discipline (electrical engineering, civil engineering, etc)
