Job summary

Talon/LPE is seeking a Project Manager in Amarillo, TX, to oversee environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will collaborate with clients, team members, and regulators, with responsibilities spanning office planning and field execution.

The role requires a BS in a related field and 3–5 years of PM experience in environmental consulting, plus strong MS Office skills and the ability to mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in project management, preferably 3-5 years.
• Experience in environmental consulting services required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, employees, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to mentor and train staff, and exercise independent judgment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Ability to wear required PPE.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions and travel to remote job sites.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and invoicing.
• Develop and implement project budgets, including labor hours and expected expenses.
• Supervise and mentor project personnel, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients through regular communication and meetings.
• Oversee all phases of the project, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Prepare bids, proposals, work plans, and statements of work, seeking approvals as required.
• Ensure all necessary contract documents are in place before work begins.
• Identify and communicate resource requirements for project completion.
• Perform field work as required, including travel and overnight stays to project sites.
• Compile and process project data, including daily logs, mileage logs, and field data sheets.
• Prepare reports and documentation to meet client, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Create and follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment.
• Stay informed on relevant regulatory issues and maintain compliance with applicable guidelines.
• Adhere to quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Assist in the hiring, training, and development of project staff.
• Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and team members, including after hours when necessary.
• Travel to remote job sites as needed and work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
