Job Title:

Project Management Support Specialist

Location:

Arnold AFB‑Tullahoma, TN

Summary:

Canvas is seeking a qualified individual to provide advisory and assistance services to the Air Force in project/program management efforts associated with specific test needs at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) at Arnold AFB, TN. The candidate will provide a wide range of services including procurement support, contract administration assistance, and records management/administrative support for a variety of planning and executing projects.

Duties:
  • Documenting project scope, objectives, KPPs, and KSAs.
  • Working knowledge of project phases (Initiation, Planning, Design, Execution, and Closeout).
  • Monthly project review briefings to our Air Force customer.
  • Working with finance to develop project spend plans.
  • Holding weekly/bi‑weekly meetings for project updates.
  • Advise the Air Force of any project disconnects, risks, opportunities, and overall progress.
  • Define and document project requirements and deliverables through direct stakeholder engagement.
  • Managing complex projects of all sizes.
  • Knowledge/familiarity of project acquisition strategy and key program events such as decision points, reviews, contract award, and Contract Line‑Item Number (CLIN) structure.
  • Follow a structured system engineering approach that facilitates project milestone reviews including Integrated Baseline Review (IBR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Verification Readiness Review (VRR), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Functional Configuration Audit (FCA), and Physical Configuration Audit (PCA).
  • Assess contractor documentation against project requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation is in place and stored in the proper repository.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize risks and keep projects on track.
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution across all locations.
Requirements:

PMP certification desirable.

Minimum Education:
  • PM1 – Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field (or substitution as described below).
  • PM2 – Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field (or substitution as described below).
  • PM3 – Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field (or substitution as described below).
Minimum Experience:
  • PM1 – 0 years of experience
  • PM2 – 0–3 years of experience
  • PM3 – 3–10 years of experience
Security Clearance:

Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret clearance.

Other Essential Job Functions:
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • 5–10% travel may be required.
