Job description

Project Management Specialist (Senior) LEAD

Amentum is now hiring for a Project Management Specialist (Senior) LEAD position in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR.

Position Description

The candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Defining the scope of a project, creating detailed work plans, and setting deadlines
  • Identifying project resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities
  • Managing day-to-day operational aspects of the project and ensuring project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored
  • Effectively communicating relevant project information to superiors and peers
  • Managing project budget, tracking project expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk
  • Ensuring project outcomes align with the company’s objectives and meet customer expectations
  • Reviewing deliverables prepared by the team before passing to the client
  • Resolving and/or escalating issues in a timely fashion
  • Conducting project post-mortems and creating a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Implements government programs through a risk and oversight approach for all phases of program activities; identifies risks and problems, proposes solutions, and provides timely and accurate contract deliverables.
  • Develops and interprets policies in specific program areas, and provides leadership, coordination, and authoritative advice to top officials in the development of cooperative relationships, resulting in the formulation and execution of progressive and comprehensive programs that meet local, State, and Federal goals and objectives.
  • Leads a group of employees in carrying out a government program, administering and carrying out program requirements and activities, and assures compliance program activities with laws and regulations.
  • Ensures the effective management of the assigned program areas.
  • Must have experience with diverse IT projects both large and small.
  • Must be well versed in full systems development life cycle, enterprise-wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, structure and management practices.
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks to the program.
  • Must be able to manage to cost, schedule and performance.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline, is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering, integration, RDT&E, program development, and acquisition.
  • 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Program Management Institute (PMI) certification (desired)
  • Demonstrated ability in Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Past experience working in C5ISR and CSIA.
  • Is a recognized expert in MIL-STD-1553 interfaces, circuit and system design, messaging requirements analysis, test, and requirements authoring.
  • Has verifiable experience in integrated logistics support, FOGS, UH/MH-60A/L/M/V, and OH-58A/C/D helicopter configurations.
  • Ten years of experience supporting U.S. Army programs, to include: Aerostats, EO/IR Payloads, Ground Sensors, Radars, and Airborne Countermeasures Sensors.
