Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Management Specialist to join the Federal Services Unit Environment and Energy Team (FSU ENE). In this role, you will play a critical part in project planning, financial tracking, procurement, quality control, and reporting to FSU's project management team. You'll work closely with project managers to ensure projects stay on track, within budget, and aligned with organizational and client objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Partner with CDM Smith Project Managers in the development and oversight of project documentation and planning, including scope definition, scheduling, and performance reporting, using discretion to recommend process improvements.
  2. Lead and advise on key operational aspects such as financial oversight, budget tracking, supporting invoice development and review of invoices prior to client submission, and funding compliance.
  3. Coordinate procurement strategies to support technical scopes of work.
  4. Analyze project performance metrics, track critical milestones, and proactively identify potential risks or delays, advising project managers on mitigation strategies.
  5. Ensure project compliance with applicable quality standards and government property regulations through independent review and continuous monitoring.
  6. Support strategic project pursuits by preparing customized documentation and contributing insights to proposals.
  7. Exercise judgment in managing and escalating scope changes, RFIs, submittals, and other contractual communications, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal standards.
  8. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent additional directly related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as required
