Job summary

Siemens Mobility invites rising sophomores or juniors to join a 10–12-week Project Management Intern program in Alpharetta, GA. You will support a Project Manager on component projects, learn planning, risk management, and documentation processes, and interact with teams in the US and Europe.

Live near Alpharetta, Georgia and pursue an undergraduate degree while gaining hands-on experience in rail components and project management within a global organization.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Project Management or Business Management.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Documentation management knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support a Project Manager in one of our component projects domestically.
  • Interface with our Headquarters in Germany when needed.
  • Work autonomously in a project team on small work packages.
  • Attend internal and external meetings for the project.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers in the US and Europe on project activities.

We are looking for a Rail Traction Components Project Management Intern. This position will be based at our Alpharetta area branch located in Georgia.

As our Project Management Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn and gain hands‑onexperience on project management processes such as planning, project specifications,progress monitoring, risk management, building customer relationships and managing thesystems that store all project documentation.

A little bit about us:

Siemens Mobilityprovides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail– including rail components and service. We craft and manufacture across the traction drivesplatform, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros,locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets.

How does Project Management play into the big picture?

Our Project Management team interfaces with other internal departments to drive and monitorprogress for component projects, ensures project schedule and specification are met andrepresents the project towards the customer. Our Project Managers are managing the technicalcomplexities in close cooperation with Engineering for the vehicle design and with Operationsfor the construction of the different components we build.

What you will be doing:

As our Project Management Intern, you will support a Project Manager in one of our existingprojects and gain experience in the industrial processes necessary to create complex productsin small quantity production.

  • Support a Project Manager in one of our component projects domestically
  • At times interface with our Headquarters in Germany.
  • Work autonomously in a project team on small work packages.
  • Attend internal and external meetings for the project
  • Work with our Project Managers and Engineers in both the US and Europe on activities such as: customer correspondence, documentation, production, commissioning and certification topics as well as on design and engineering topics.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Project Management and or Business Management (International a plus). Technical related field from an accredited college or university, with at least 1-2 years completed to date.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs is required.
  • Documentation Management System knowledge and previous project management skills are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written

You’ll Benefit From

The hourly pay range for this position is $24.00 per hour for first time Interns or $28.00 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
