Job summary

Panasonic Energy of North America is seeking a Project Management Intern to support project lifecycle activities at the Gigafactory in De Soto, Kansas. The program runs 12 weeks during summer 2027 and requires full-time attendance, GPA 3.2, and at least two years of university study.

You will work with experienced managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams, gaining hands-on exposure to planning, scheduling, risk management, and reporting while developing core project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 2 years at an accredited university.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
  • Onsite at the Panasonic Energy Gigafactory in De Soto, Kansas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Support schedule development and progress tracking.
  • Document key decisions and action items in meetings.
  • Assist with status reports and meeting preparation.
  • Track project risks, issues, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Monitor milestones, deliverables and deadlines.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, maintenance, production, and business teams.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Management Intern, you will work alongside experienced project managers, engineers, operations leaders, and cross-functional teams to support projects throughout their lifecycle. This internship provides practical exposure to project planning, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, risk management, reporting, and project execution while developing the foundational skills needed for a successful career in project management.

Successful interns will leave the program with valuable industry experience, exposure to large-scale manufacturing operations, and a stronger understanding of how projects are planned, managed, and delivered in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties
  • Assist Project Managers with project planning, execution, monitoring, and closing activities.
  • Support project schedule development, maintenance, and progress tracking.
  • Participate in project meetings and daily standups and document key decisions and action items.
  • Assist with project documentation, status reports, and meeting preparation.
  • Support tracking of project risks, issues, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Help monitor project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Analyze project data and prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, maintenance, production, and business teams.
  • Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and project performance analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve project execution and delivery.
Internship Details
  • The program will be a fulltime paid summer internship working for Panasonic Energy at the Gigafactory.
  • The program will be 12 weeks in length, and is planned to occur between Monday, May 17 and Friday, August 6, 2027. This date range is subject to change.
  • Must be able to attend the entirety of the internship.
Program Requirements
  • The program will be a full time paid summer internship working for Panasonic Energy onsite at the Gigafactory
  • Must attend entirety of internship from the indicated start and end date noted above
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Must have completed a minimum of 2 years at an accredited university
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis at the time the internship begins and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, O-1, TN, L-1, or other employment-based visas) to participate in the program or for a fulltime role after graduation. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements
  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

What You’ll Bring
Education
  • Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a Project Management, Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management Science, and Supply Chain Management, or equivalent degree.
Essential Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled as a fulltime student at an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester).
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Basic understanding of project management fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience through project teams or previous jobs.
  • A desire to create a sustainable future through energy storage, renewable energy, and electric vehicles.
