Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Project-Level Restoration Engineer to advance ecological restoration and water-resource engineering in Montana and the Pacific Northwest. The role is based in Whitefish, MT, with travel to field sites for assessments and client meetings.

The position is full-time, in-office, and hourly. The candidate should have stream restoration, dam removal, fish passage design experience, strong hydraulics/hydrology, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Ecological Engineering.
• EI certification (Engineering Intern).
• Three years of ecosystem restoration design experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% for field data collection and client meetings.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling.
• Experience developing restoration construction plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Participate in engineering design, reporting, and construction plan development.
• Conduct field assessments and geomorphic analyses.
• Develop restoration construction plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and analysis.
• Coordinate with project managers to maintain schedule and budget.
• Attend internal design trainings to support growth.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Support safety planning and hazard anticipation.
