Farnsworth Group is seeking a Project Landscape Architect in either our Peoria, Normal, or Champaign, IL office. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the design concept of a project through construction documents. The PLA must understand the big picture while being detail-oriented. The success of a project relies on the clarity, completeness, accuracy, and overall quality of our project documents.

Job Activities:
  1. Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of landscape architecture, civil engineering, land development, and planning projects.
  2. Prepare site work cost estimates and zoning analyses.
  3. Determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
  4. Write and review draft reports, including feasibility studies, proposals, and technical specifications.
  5. Plan, schedule, and develop task and project budgets.
  6. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders.
  7. Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines, minimizing write-offs.
Specific Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) certification.
  • 8+ years of related professional experience.
  • LEED AP or similar sustainable accreditation preferred.
  • ISA Certified Arborist a plus.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Self-motivation and productivity without supervision.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills adaptable to all levels.
  • Desire to work collaboratively.

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $100,000, determined by education, experience, skills, and internal/external equity.
