Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Must live in the Atlantic City Region, NJ, Washington, DC, or Oklahoma City, OK
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience performing construction inspection, quality assurance, field engineering, owner's representative, or construction management services.
  • Experience inspecting facility construction, infrastructure modernization, telecommunications installations, or mission‑critical systems deployments.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, building systems, electrical infrastructure, communications systems, and installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, construction schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Experience documenting field activities and preparing inspection reports.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and construction quality management procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site inspections of construction, renovation, infrastructure, and installation activities supporting BNATCS deployments.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with contract requirements, approved designs, technical specifications, and FAA construction standards.
  • Conduct daily field observations and document construction progress, completed work, labor resources, equipment utilization, and site conditions.
  • Verify that materials, equipment, and installation methods conform to approved project requirements and manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect electrical, communications, network, facility, structural, HVAC, cabling, grounding, and equipment installation activities.
  • Identify, document, and track deficiencies, non-conformance issues, safety concerns, and quality-related findings through resolution.
  • Review contractor submittals, inspection reports, test results, field change requests, and quality control documentation.
  • Witness site testing, commissioning activities, system cutovers, equipment acceptance testing, and operational readiness demonstrations.
  • Maintain detailed project records, inspection logs, photographs, field reports, punch lists, and daily activity reports.
  • Coordinate closely with construction managers, engineers, system integrators, facility personnel, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues.
  • Validate construction milestone completion and provide recommendations regarding progress payments and project acceptance.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, progress reviews, safety meetings, and project turnover activities.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure minimal disruption to NAS operations and facility functions.
  • Support final acceptance inspections, closeout reviews, and turnover of completed facilities and infrastructure to FAA operational organizations.

Position Summary

The Project Inspector is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, documenting, and verifying construction, installation, infrastructure modernization, and facility improvement activities supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Brand-New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) program. The Project Inspector provides direct field oversight of contractors and installation teams to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, approved engineering designs, FAA standards, safety regulations, quality management procedures, and established project schedules. Working under the direction of the Construction Manager and Program Management Office, the Project Inspector conducts daily site inspections, reviews construction progress, validates workmanship and materials, identifies deficiencies, and documents compliance with project requirements. The Project Inspector serves as the FAA's eyes and ears in the field and plays a key role in supporting facility acceptance, equipment installations, system integration activities, and construction closeout activities across Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCTs), Terminal Radar Approach Control Facilities (TRACONs), Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), Combined Control Facilities (CCFs), telecommunications facilities, and surveillance sites.


Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience supporting FAA, Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Defense (DoD), or other federal facility construction programs.

  • Knowledge of NAS infrastructure, air traffic control facilities, telecommunications systems, surveillance systems, or automation systems.

  • Certification as a Construction Inspector (NICET), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent.

  • Experience with telecommunications, network infrastructure, equipment shelters, radar facilities, or control tower construction projects.

  • Familiarity with FAA engineering standards, facility requirements, and federal construction contracting procedures.


Citizenship and Security Clearance

Candidates must be 18 years of age and a US citizen. Proof of eligibility and verification is a must. P17 Solutions does not provide sponsorship at this time. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation. Candidate must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain clearance needed for the position. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required.
