Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, seeks to hire a Project Geotechnical Engineer for the Southern California area. Positions available in Laguna Hills, Riverside, or Los Angeles offices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
  • Safely conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical support under supervision.
  • Coordinate tasks and small projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
  • Prepare designs, reports, and calculations on complex projects for review.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 6 to 10 years of related experience, or 4 years related experience with a Master's, or 2 years related experience with a PhD.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Strong analytical skills in soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, materials testing and engineering, soil improvement techniques, and pavement design.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations, and heavy civil project design and construction preferred.
  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Willingness to travel, perform field work under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions.
  • Ability to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self‑motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Willingness to work additional hours beyond a standard 40‑hour week when needed.
