Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer/Manager to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key role in providing geotechnical engineering expertise through analysis and design, supporting project management, supervising staff engineers, and interfacing with clients. You will have the opportunity to work on projects including mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential, higher education, federal, renewable energy, and grid resilience projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform complex analyses, structural design of pile elements and underpinning systems, and special engineering inspections;
  • Prepare technical documents and manage the preparation of proposals, reports, construction documents, and related correspondence;
  • Supervise field investigations and earthwork and foundation construction activities;
  • Manage multiple projects within budgets and schedules, prepare progress reports, draft change orders, invoices, and project billings;
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s preferred;
  • Professional Engineer licensure;
  • Experience with Grid Resiliency projects preferred;
  • Experience with utility clients, program managers, or contractors in related fields;
  • 6+ years of geotechnical experience;
  • 3+ years of field experience in investigations and construction observation;
  • Proven experience in technical report writing, project management, client management, and mentoring staff;
  • Strong understanding of codes and regulations;
  • Knowledge of technical analysis software;
  • Excellent communication, entrepreneurial spirit, and teamwork skills;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
