Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking an experienced Project Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join its Seattle-area team. The role focuses on environmental investigation and remediation across the Pacific Northwest, with strong emphasis on federal and DoD clients, including NAVFAC Northwest.

The candidate will support CERCLA, RCRA, UST projects and coordinate field activities across Washington and Alaska, with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of environmental consulting or remediation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, USTs, contaminated-site investigation, or remediation.
  • Strong background in groundwater and soil investigation.
  • Experience preparing technical environmental reports and regulatory documentation.
  • Previous federal, DoD, NAVFAC, or USACE experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with drilling oversight, monitoring wells, soil logging, and environmental sampling preferred.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred.
  • Washington Licensed Geologist preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support CERCLA, RCRA, UST, and environmental restoration projects.
  • Prepare and contribute to technical documents including Preliminary Assessments, Site Investigations, RI/FS reports, work plans, monitoring reports, and remedial action documentation.
  • Conduct and oversee soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and soil-gas investigations.
  • Coordinate drilling, monitoring well installation, sampling, and subcontractor activities.
  • Evaluate environmental data and support site characterization, conceptual site models, and remedial decision-making.
  • Support remediation system installation, operation, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Support periodic field travel throughout Washington and Alaska.

Location & Compensation
  • Seattle, Washington
  • Hybrid working model, generally 3 days in office / up to 2 days remote
  • Some flexibility may be available for candidates elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest
  • $115,000–$145,000 base salary + benefits
  • Periodic travel to project sites in Washington and Alaska
