Kamran & Company is seeking a Staff Accountant in Fargo, ND to own project-based accounting functions. You will manage job cost, WIP reporting, and multi-state tax compliance while closely partnering with the Controller, PMs, and Sales. The role emphasizes accuracy, ownership, and timely financial close.

The ideal candidate has GAAP knowledge, 2–4 years of relevant experience, and strong Excel skills. This position offers growth within a growing firm focused on large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience in project-based environments.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
• Experience with multi-state sales/use tax filings.
• Advanced Excel skills with large data sets and pivot tables.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong communication.
• Ability to meet deadlines during close and audit cycles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain project-level cost tracking and ensure costs are coded to the correct job.
• Prepare WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Reconcile job cost detail to the general ledger and investigate variances.
• Review open jobs with PMs to validate cost-to-complete estimates.
• Assist with tax filings, audits, and compliance support.
• Prepare journal entries and assist month-end close.
• Review vendor invoices and billings for accuracy and coding.
• Maintain fixed asset records and reconciliations.
