Job summary

Constellation Energy Corp. is seeking a financially driven role to support project budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure analysis. The position involves maintaining project checkbooks, updating budgets with PCRs, and providing financial guidance in line with Constellation accounting practices.

You will collaborate with project managers on forecasts, costs, and risk/opportunity analysis, and assist in preparing monthly reports and strategic financial reviews for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with related experience.
  • PMP Certification within 18 months of starting position.
  • Experience in financial budgeting, cost and/or project estimating in related industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project checkbooks reflecting budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
  • Process PCRs to update budgets and support monthly debriefs.
  • Review checkbooks for data accuracy and risk tracking.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and benchmarking studies.
  • Assist in developing PCR and NSAC financial presentations.
  • Coordinate post-implementation appraisals and communicate results.

Expected salary range of $99,000 to $110,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

To support Constellation organizations in the monitoring and controlling of project budget, forecasts and expenditures through the development of project checkbooks and analysis of current and future expenditures.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities
  • Prepare project checkbooks, with input from the project manager, that accurately reflect monthly and yearly budgets, forecasts of future spend, and actual monthly expenditures, process approved Project Change Requests (PCRs) to update budgets in the project checkbook tool that is updated monthly and used to support monthly project financial debriefs, and routinely review and analyze assigned checkbooks to identify missing or incomplete project data, including authorization history, milestone dates, Form 4s, contract and requisition numbers, and risk and opportunities sheets.
  • Perform Ad-hoc analysis and special projects relevant to financial controls: Focused area assessments (FASAs), benchmarking visits / studies, business plan initiatives, procedure revisions or new procedure creation, and training sessions.
  • Assists project managers in preparing, updating and analyzing project checkbooks including forecasts, actual costs, and budgets by taking into account previous month expenditures and accruals/CPAs. Identify any challenges to current year or project overall budget. As part of the forecast, develop project risks and opportunities to the project yearly budget.
  • Perform detailed analysis of real time monthly project expenditures to ensure costs are properly coded and identify project fiscal discrepancies. Assist project manager with resolution of discrepancies through communications with appropriate vendors or departments.
  • Assists the project manager in the development of PCR and Nuclear Strategic Authorization Committee (NSAC) financial presentations, monthly project reports, and Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO) bi-monthly project reviews. Also provide project managers with financial guidance to keep within Constellation accounting practices.
  • Work with project managers to coordinate the review of project post implementation appraisals (PIAs), compile and trend the results to improve understanding of project successes and failures, and communicate the results annually to the project management peer group.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-years of related experience OR
  • Associate's degree with 7 years of related experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 9 years of related experience
  • Experience in financial budgeting, cost and/or project estimating experience in related industry.
  • PMP Certification (within 18 months of starting position)
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) and /or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Expertise in PeopleSoft and Hyperion financial systems
