Descrizione del lavoro

The Project Engineer is a key member of the project operations team that provides critical support to Project Management and is the liaison between the Field and the Office. Under the supervision of Project Management, the Project Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, development of pre-work and post work submittal packages, processing, validating and compiling cable test reports, drafting and processing RFIs, preparing change order requests, verifying field conditions against design documents, ensuring working sets of drawings and specifications are kept up-to-date, maintaining redline / as-built drawing sets and keeping project records appropriately filed. The most critical responsibility of this key role is communication. The Project Engineer must ensure that the entirety of the extended Project Team is always up to date

Core Responsibilities
  • Hardware Deployment & Integration: Handle rack installation, rack builds, "rack-and-stack" server deployment, land-and-level workflows, and physical cable patching.
  • Infrastructure & Power/Cooling Audits: Manage fiber and cabling logistics, monitor power distribution (UPS to rack level), and oversee thermal/liquid cooling systems.
  • Commissioning & Testing: Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing, and system commissioning (testing power transfers and failovers).
  • Operations & Troubleshooting: Review building/electrical management system alerts, investigate temperature or voltage irregularities, and perform root-cause analysis on hardware or environmental faults.
Common Specializations
  • Data Center Field / SME Engineer: Focuses on standardizing rack builds, migrations, documentation, and large-scale enterprise rollouts.
  • Critical Operations / Plant Engineer: Concentrates on mechanical, electrical, cooling towers, and liquid cooling distribution units (CDUs).
  • Field Application Engineer: Partners with sales and engineering teams to design, quote, and deploy vendor-specific electrical or thermal solutions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other related disciplines. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry in a similar role. Experience with large, structured cabling projects and/or data center construction projects highly preferred.
