Job description

Project Executive — Commercial Construction

AECOM Hunt is recruiting a seasoned Construction Project Executive to lead delivery of multiple out of the ground high‑rise towers in the heart of Miami, FL. You will provide executive leadership across preconstruction, procurement, construction, and closeout—driving schedule certainty, quality, cost control, and stakeholder alignment for the region’s most complex urban developments. Lead the full project lifecycle for luxury, high-rise towers, balancing constructability, and commercial performance. Serve as the primary executive interface with the owner, design partners, trade contractors, and internal teams. Direct a large, multi-disciplinary team to deliver on safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets in a dense urban environment.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
  • Set project vision, success measures, and operating cadence; implement executive-level risk management and decision frameworks.
  • Chair executive progress reviews; forecast outcomes and drive early, decisive interventions.
Commercial Management
  • Oversee design development, value management, packaging strategy, and market engagement/CM-at-Risk environment.
  • Lead procurement and contract negotiations; ensure robust change management and claims mitigation.
Schedule, Logistics & Construction Excellence
  • Own the master schedule from siteworks through TCO/CO; optimize vertical logistics (cranes, hoists, concrete cycle, jump form).
  • Drive structural concrete sequencing, MEP integration, façade interfaces, and interior fit‑out with disciplined pull‑planning and 4D/5D tools.
Quality, Safety & Commissioning
  • Champion a zero-incident culture and rigorous QA/QC; align inspection, mock‑ups, and testing with acceptance criteria.
  • Lead commissioning/turnover for MEP systems and smart‑building features; secure TCO and final CO.
Stakeholder & Community Management
  • Manage executive relationships with the owner, lenders, insurers, and authorities having jurisdiction (City of Miami, Miami‑Dade).
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, and compliance under the Florida Building Code; integrate resilience for hurricane and high‑wind conditions.
Financial Stewardship
  • Own project P&L; maintain cost certainty with disciplined forecasting, cash flow management, and contingency governance.
  • Oversee pay apps, change orders, and claims; resolve commercial issues proactively.
People & Culture
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high‑performing team; set clear accountabilities for Project Managers, Superintendents, and Controls staff.
  • Foster collaboration with design partners and trade contractors; model inclusive, high‑trust leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS Construction Management/Engineering or similar curriculum and 12 years of relevant construction project management experience and 4 years of leadership experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Executive leadership on $1B+ high‑rise or complex mixed‑use developments.
  • Florida market experience with Miami‑Dade AHJs, utilities, inspections, hurricane/wind design considerations, and coastal logistics.
  • Advanced proficiency with Procore (or equivalent), Primavera P6, cost systems, BIM/VDC, and data analytics/reporting tools.
  • Experience coordinating design‑assist, prefabrication, and modular strategies at scale.
  • Deep expertise in structural concrete, MEP/FP systems integration, building façade systems, and vertical transportation.
  • Mastery of commercial delivery (GMP/CM‑R), procurement, cost controls, and change management at mega‑project scale.
  • Strong command of schedule development and recovery planning (e.g., P6), VDC/BIM coordination, and field execution.
Additional Information
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test.
  • This position is not hybrid nor remote.
  • For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
