McKinstry is looking for a Project Executive - Data Center Construction to join our Data Center Innovations division in Dallas, TX. This role leads complex sales and project initiatives, manages key client relationships, and ensures projects align with organizational strategy.

Requires 12+ years in construction, 5+ years in a sales leadership role, and experience on large data center projects; DBIA certification preferred.

The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking for a Project Executive - Data Center Construction to join our Data Center Innovations division in Dallas, TX. This role is responsible for driving business growth and project success by leading complex sales and project initiatives, managing key client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with organizational strategy. Additional responsibilities may include:

• Position McKinstry’s brand and promote all corporate offerings within identified markets and to clients, consistently seeking new targets and growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, associations, and organizations at all levels, and manage key accounts as determined by business unit goals.
• Develop and manage the sales process from opportunity identification through booking and transition to operations, including RFQ/RFP responses, interview strategy, team management, contract negotiations, and proposal development.
• Lead or support pursuit strategies for acquiring projects or new clients and execute market strategies including SWOT and competitive analysis.
• Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image and support business unit revenue and operating income goals.

Operations and Execution

• Act as the primary client interface for all project financial, contractual, and technical matters, establishing key project and client objectives.
• Oversee all aspects of project execution, including contract management, financial reporting, safety and quality reviews, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with business unit and operations leadership to ensure successful project delivery, and exercise cross-functional decision making with engineering, preconstruction, estimating, accounting, purchasing, and marketing.
• Define project responsibilities for team members, coach individuals throughout execution, and ensure accurate, timely, and salient reporting to stakeholders.

• Promote a “One McKinstry” mindset and support company goals and the Action for Impact plan.
• Act as a steward of company policies and procedures, and build effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups.
• Leverage McKinstry’s offerings and industrialized construction resources to provide high-level preconstruction and project delivery services.
• Foster cross-collaboration among business units, corporate services, and executive leadership.

Team Management

• Select, develop, coach, and manage staff within the portfolio of work.
• Mentor and develop client-focused professionals and encourage employee growth through development plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Succeed at McKinstry

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required.
• Minimum 12+ years of construction experience in various procurement methods and running large projects, with at least 5 years managing a team and five years in a sales leadership role.
• Experience on large data center projects is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in project executive and senior project manager responsibilities, including project controls, financials, risk management, and estimating.
• Advanced skills in critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and team leadership.
• Proven ability to organize people, delegate responsibility, and manage multiple activities to achieve results.
• Strong commitment to quality, integrity, and client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, codes, equipment selection, labor relations, and financial programs/software.
• DBIA certification preferred.

The pay range for this position is $118,170 - $210,100 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
