Job summary

DIRTT Environmental Solutions is seeking a Project Executive to serve as the technical-commercial lead for evaluating project opportunities prior to solution development.

This role partners closely with the commercial organization to determine whether opportunities align with the company’s operational capabilities, margin expectations, and strategic focus. The Project Executive screens and shapes opportunities early to drive profitable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years in architectural systems, interior construction, prefabrication, engineering, or technical sales.
  • Experience evaluating complex project opportunities, solution feasibility, and execution risk.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with sales, engineering, estimating, and operations.
  • Strong understanding of construction project delivery models, scope development, sequence, and installation.

Who You Are

The Project Executive serves as the technical-commercial lead for evaluating project opportunities prior to solution development.

This role partners closely with the commercial organization to determine whether opportunities align with the company’s operational capabilities, margin expectations, and strategic focus. The Project Executive is responsible for assessing revenue quality, margin potential, and operational fit before opportunities proceed into detailed solution development.

By screening and shaping opportunities early in the sales process, the Project Executive ensures that resources are focused on projects that can be delivered profitably, predictably, and within operational capabilities. They also identify potential national accounts and foster those relationships to generate repeat business.

The Project Executive acts as the first operational gate in the opportunity lifecycle.

What You’ll Do
  • Opportunity Qualification and Revenue Quality
  • Evaluate incoming opportunities to determine their alignment with the company’s operational model.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Assess project fit relative to DIRTT system capabilities
  • Evaluate project complexity, scope clarity, and risk factors
  • Identify potential margin risks early in the pursuit process
  • Determine whether opportunities meet Revenue Quality Index (RQI) thresholds
  • Recommend whether opportunities proceed to solution development

Key outcome: Only high-quality opportunities advance into Solutions Execution.

Commercial Partnership
  • Serve as the primary technical partner to the commercial sales organization throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with sales teams to shape project opportunities
  • Provide early guidance on solution feasibility and approach
  • Identify opportunities where DIRTT solutions provide competitive advantage
  • Help commercial teams position solutions that align with DIRTT capabilities
  • Support commercial teams in developing relationships with the goal of turning one off projects into repeat clients who continue building with DIRTT.

Key outcome: Sales pursuits aligned with realistic DIRTT delivery models.

Margin and Risk Framing
  • Define the margin and execution framework before detailed solution development begins.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Establish target margin expectations for opportunities
  • Identify scope ambiguity or specification gaps
  • Highlight execution risks that may affect pricing or delivery
  • Guide sales teams on pricing structure and scope boundaries
  • Escalate high-risk opportunities to the Director of Solutions Design

Key outcome: Margin assumptions grounded in operational reality.

Opportunity Structuring
  • Shape project opportunities so that they can be effectively engineered and executed.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Determine appropriate level of customization vs standardization
  • Frame the initial project scope before Solutions Designers begin design
  • Establish the execution model (prefab scope, installation model, sequencing assumptions)
  • Perform descope cost reviews with contractors to ensure there are no cost duplications between
  • DIRTT scope and conventional construction estimates
Gate Keeping and Resource Prioritization
  • Ensure internal resources are focused on the right opportunities.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Control which opportunities advance into solution development
  • Prioritize opportunities based on strategic value and execution readiness
  • Maintain visibility into pipeline quality and opportunity readiness
  • Coordinate with Solutions Designers and the Manager of Construction Cost Estimating on

Key outcome: Efficient use of design and estimating resources.

What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in architectural systems , interior construction, prefabrication, engineering, or technical sales environments.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating complex project opportunities, solution feasibility, and execution risk.
  • Experience working in cross -functional environments that include sales, engineering, estimating, and operations.
  • Strong understanding of construction project delivery models, including scope development, project sequencing, and installation approaches.
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, operational fit, and margin implications of potential projects.
  • Familiarity with estimating, costing, and margin management principles.
  • Ability to identify execution risks and construction scope gaps early in the pursuit process.
