Job summary

Foster Lawson in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Project Executive to lead laboratory, R&D and GMP manufacturing projects. You will own project P&L, oversee preconstruction, and serve as senior client contact with biotech developers and landlords.

The role requires 10+ years in construction with 5+ years in life science, a track record on $10M–$100M+ projects, and knowledge of cGMP/FDA-adjacent standards. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction/project management with 5+ years in life science, lab, biotech, or GMP/pharma construction.
• Track record leading $10M–$100M+ projects.
• Working knowledge of cGMP/FDA-adjacent construction requirements.
• Established relationships within the Bay Area sub/AHJ market.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own project P&L: budgets, forecasting, cost control, margins.
• Lead preconstruction: budgeting, scheduling, constructability, trade partner selection.
• Serve as senior client contact for biotech/pharma clients, developers, and landlords.
• Manage lab-specific scopes: cleanrooms, process piping, RO/DI, vivariums, fume hood/exhaust, BMS.
• Oversee and mentor Project Managers and Supervisors.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP/process engineers, and regulatory consultants on code and cGMP requirements.
• Support pursuits and interviews to grow life science business.
