Build the Market. Lead the Team. Own the Growth.

Kaloutas is seeking an experienced sales leader to serve as Sales Manager / Project Executive for our Portland/Scarborough market. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can build strong customer relationships, develop people, create a disciplined sales culture, and turn market opportunity into profitable growth.

The successful candidate will lead and support a team of Project Managers responsible for servicing existing customers, developing new business, and delivering successful projects. You will help set the commercial direction for the market while staying close to customers, opportunities, projects, and the people responsible for execution.

What You'll Own
  • Lead the sales and business development strategy for the region, establishing clear priorities, targets, and accountability.
  • You will build relationships at an executive level with general contractors and assist in market growth through your own efforts.
  • Coach, develop, and support a small group of Project Managers as frontline leaders responsible for customer relationships, sales growth, and project performance.
  • Setting team expectations to drive new business development while expanding relationships and share of wallet with existing customers.
  • Own team strategy for maintaining a healthy pipeline of short-cycle opportunities and larger strategic pursuits.
  • Identify key target accounts, market segments, and growth opportunities, then create actionable plans to win them.
  • Maintain strong market visibility by spending meaningful time with customers, prospects, partners, and team members.
  • Partner with Project Managers and operations to ensure sold work is transitioned and delivered effectively, safely, and profitably.
  • Review sales activity, pipeline, backlog, customer data, and market trends to improve decision-making and forecasting.
  • Lead weekly business and opportunity reviews, reinforcing follow-through, CRM discipline, and ownership of commitments.
  • Participate in strategic planning and management discussions, bringing a market-focused perspective to business decisions; own forecast responsibility for your team.
  • Evaluate current sales direction and recommend adjustments based on customer needs, competitive activity, and evolving market conditions.
  • Create a culture where developing new business, serving customers exceptionally well, and achieving profitable growth are shared priorities.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in general contracting, industrial services, commercial construction, specialty contracting, facilities services, coatings, flooring, fireproofing, or a related field.
  • Management-level experience leading, coaching, and developing project managers, salespeople, account managers, or other customer-facing professionals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers, contractors, facility professionals, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and day-to-day execution.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including revenue, margin, forecasting, pipeline, backlog, and project performance.
  • The ability to analyze customer, business, and industry information and translate it into targeted solutions and growth strategies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence customers and lead teams effectively.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing sales and business development plans that produce measurable growth a real plus.
  • College degree preferred; relevant leadership, sales, and industry experience will be strongly considered.
The Person Who Will Thrive Here

You are a leader who enjoys being close to the business. You know how to set expectations, coach people, ask the right questions, and hold a team accountable without losing sight of customer relationships. You are comfortable moving between strategic planning, major account development, opportunity reviews, and project-level conversations. Most importantly, you know how to create momentum and help a team win together.
