Project Executive - Electrical Construction

Haydon Healy is partnering with an established electrical contractor in the Greater Boston market to appoint an experienced Project Executive.

The business delivers complex electrical construction projects throughout the Northeast across commercial, infrastructure, utility/power and other technically demanding environments.

This is a senior operational position responsible for the successful delivery and financial performance of major projects while providing leadership to Project Managers, field teams and supporting functions.

The successful candidate will combine strong electrical construction knowledge with commercial awareness, client management capability and the ability to lead multiple project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight across one or multiple large-scale electrical construction projects.
• Lead and mentor Project Managers, Senior Project Managers and wider project teams.
• Maintain accountability for project financial performance, forecasting, budgets and profitability.
• Review project WIP, cost-to-complete forecasts and overall commercial performance.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, procurement and manpower requirements.
• Manage contract administration, change orders, claims and project risk.
• Partner closely with field leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.
• Maintain senior-level relationships with general contractors, owners, engineering partners and other key stakeholders.
• Participate in project handovers from estimating and preconstruction through execution and closeout.
• Identify and resolve constructability, scheduling and commercial issues before they impact delivery.
• Support procurement and major equipment/material buyouts.
• Ensure appropriate project controls, reporting and documentation are maintained.
• Drive consistency and continuous improvement across project management processes.
• Support business development, client retention and the pursuit of future project opportunities.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with senior electrical construction professionals who can demonstrate:

• 10+ years of progressive electrical construction experience, ideally including significant Project Management leadership.
• Previous experience as a Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Project Director or equivalent.
• Proven delivery of large and technically complex electrical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction means and methods.
• Experience managing project financials including forecasting, WIP, change management and cost control.
• Ability to oversee multiple Project Managers and project teams simultaneously.
• Strong relationships and credibility with clients, general contractors and field leadership.
• Experience working within the Greater Boston/New England construction market is highly advantageous.
• Union electrical construction experience is preferred.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to identify project risk and protect profitability.
