Job summary

Coldspring is seeking an Estimator to conduct surveys of documents to establish material and labor quantities for bids. You will prepare estimates for select product lines, gather plans, specs, and related documents, and analyze labor and material requirements with CSI codes.

The role requires AutoCAD/Inventor proficiency, plan take-offs via PlanSwift, and collaboration with sales staff. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and landscape drawings.
• Three years drafting stone products experience or equivalent.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards in area.
• Support Continuous Improvement programs and company policies.
• Prepare estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

JOB SUMMARY: The Estimator is responsible for completing accurate surveys of customer and/or internally supplied documents to establish quantity of material and labor required for bids. Provides estimates and quantity surveys for a limited scope of product lines and building projects serviced by Coldspring.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards in area.
• Support all Continuous Improvement programs and company policies.
• General knowledge of construction science as it relates to multiple project types.
• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Provides accurate estimates and surveys for some product lines sold by Coldspring.
• Understand and use Construction Sciense Institute (CSI) cost codes
• Assemble schedule of values for use in application for payment.
• Utilize Plan Swift estimating module for take off surveys
• Provides technical advice to sales staff.
• Provide assistance to sales staff including site visits and pre bid conferences.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Autocad literate
• Analyze change orders, internal and external, to recognize deviations from original estimate.
• Formulate Cost breakdowns and options for proposed project
• Analyzing precontract work to match estimate

Requirements

• High school diploma with post-secondary training or experience in Business.
• Minimum of three years of drafting stone products experience or three years combination of work experience and Technical College.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to meet the assigned work schedule while performing highly accurate work.
• This position requires the ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and landscape drawing and specifications.
• General knowledge of natural stone design, fabrication, transportation, and construction practices.
• Familiar with Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Must be able to work in AutoCAD / Inventor / AutoDesk

This is a representation of the position's entire pay grade range. Starting pay is based on an individual’s skills, experience, and at the discretion of the hiring team.
