AirReps, a division of Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, is seeking a professional, skilled Project Estimator Airside in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The role involves planning take-offs, equipment sizing and selection to define the project scope, with responsibility for accurate plan/spec estimates using computer estimating systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years HVAC estimating experience, a high school diploma or GED with HVAC training, and proficiency in estimating software and MS Office;

Responsibilities

• Estimate HVAC projects, perform takeoffs and equipment sizing.
• Develop and maintain project estimates and logs.
• Coordinate with sales, contractors, and PM teams to meet plans.
• Attend pre-bid walks and stay aligned with budget and specs.

The Airside Project Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of HVAC estimation. This includes planning take offs, equipment sizing & selection to ensure the proper scope of work is identified. The ideal candidate is well organized, hands‑on, has excellent computer and HVAC skills, and is self‑motivated and dependable with the drive to succeed in a challenging and fast‑paced environment.

Position Responsibilities may include:

• Works with the assigned Account Executive Partner(s) to broaden sales of air distribution offerings, including but not limited to grilles, grates, diffusers, dampers, fans, louvers and other air control and distribution products
• Accurately estimates plan/spec and design/build HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software

• Develops and maintains product and industry knowledge for all airside products
• Attends factory training classes and helps to educate others on various products as determined by sales management
• Maintains estimating logs and unit costs for all projects
• Performs site surveys and attend pre‑bid walkthroughsif required
• Interacts with the sales and contractor relations and project management teams to ensure all projects are performed within budget and according to plans and specifications
• Performs equipment specification
• Participates in additional projects to support ongoing business needs

Nature & Scope:

• Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
• Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision
• Coaches and reviews the work of lower‑level professionals
• Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of different types of HVAC systems and their components
• Industrial, commercial and multi-family experience required
• Background in value engineering
• Thorough understanding of related trades for the purposes of coordinating various project estimates
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other construction documents
• Experience with estimating software and systems preferred
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work under limited or sporadic direction and meet deadlines and ability
• Must be detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to apply good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job

Experience:

• 5 + years of estimating experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record is required

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• HVAC vocational training/certificate
