Responsibilities

• Solicit, review, and validate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop estimates at different stages from conceptual to detailed construction estimates.
• Prepare and maintain estimate basis documents, assumptions, pricing information, and supporting documentation.
• Analyze labor productivity, material costs, equipment requirements, and construction methods.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and Project Management teams.
• Participate in estimate review meetings and present cost information to stakeholders.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to support the construction of a large-scale data center project in Waco, TX. The position will be responsible for developing and reviewing cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with engineering, construction, procurement, subcontractors, and project management teams.

The ideal candidate will have a background in construction estimating, capital projects, and industrial or commercial construction. Experience working on data center projects is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates based on project scope, drawings, specifications, quantities, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost breakdowns for construction activities.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify quantities, scope requirements, and potential cost impacts.
• Solicit, review, and validate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop estimates at different stages of project development, from conceptual estimates through detailed construction estimates.
• Prepare and maintain estimate basis documents, assumptions, pricing information, and supporting documentation.
• Analyze labor productivity, material costs, equipment requirements, and construction methods.
• Work with construction teams to validate quantities, production rates, and field conditions.
• Review contractor and subcontractor estimates and compare pricing against historical data, benchmarks, and project requirements.
• Support value engineering, cost control, change orders, and estimate updates throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and Project Management teams.
• Participate in estimate review meetings and present cost information and assumptions to project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction or capital cost estimating.
• Experience with large-scale construction projects.
• Experience developing detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and construction activities.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and reviewing construction drawings and specifications.
• Practical understanding of construction methods, productivity, materials, and field activities.
• Experience reviewing subcontractor bids and validating construction pricing.
• Ability to work with engineering and construction teams throughout the estimating process.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial, manufacturing, energy, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or other large-scale facilities.
• Experience with both owner-side and EPC/contractor environments.
• Previous field estimating or construction field experience.
• Experience with projects from early development/FEL through construction and commissioning.
• Experience with EPC, T&M, and lump-sum estimating.
• AACE certification or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) is a plus.
• Experience with AspenTech Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), HCSS, Bluebeam, Excel, or other estimating software.

The position will support the construction of a large-scale data center in Waco, TX. The estimator will work primarily onsite and will interact regularly with engineering, construction, subcontractors, vendors, and project management.

The role requires a practical understanding of how estimates translate into actual construction activities, including labor productivity, material quantities, subcontractor scope, equipment requirements, and field conditions.
