Job summary

JW Fowler is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Seattle-based team. You will lead major estimates, review drawings and site conditions, and collaborate with field operations to ensure accurate, timely bid packages.

The role requires 5–10+ years in heavy civil estimating, with proficiency in InEight, P6, and related software. You will work on bids across Washington, Oregon, and California, contributing to safe, competitive project delivery.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years Heavy Civil Estimating Experience.
• Experience with bid proposals and RFQ processes.
• Ability to review drawings and specs and coordinate with field operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and prepare or assist in preparing accurate and timely estimates and proposals
• Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site work evaluations
• Review drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions and solicit input from field operations
• Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase competitiveness of bid
• Prepare accurate estimates of labor, material, and time requirements according to standard process
• Review quantity take-offs and visualize where possible to support preparation of a complete estimate
• Preparation of RFQs and analysis of subcontract and material proposals
• Support alternative delivery projects with estimate proposal development
• Participate in job kick-off meeting and support the Project Team through project completion
• Participate in and/or lead means and method discussions to drive innovative ideas for successful estimates
• Help ensure the safety of our team- Everyone is responsible for safety!

As an Estimator you bring your extensive experience and thorough understanding of heavy civil construction estimating to the table. You are a self-starter who can develop major estimates while keeping critical deadlines in mind.

What we’re looking for…

• Proficiency in InEight and P6
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and applications, Microsoft Project; Primavera and AutoCAD a plus
• 5-10+ years Heavy Civil Estimating Experience
