Job summary

Community Construction Group, LLC is seeking a skilled Project Estimator to join our Preconstruction Team in Roswell, GA. The role involves bid development, take-offs, subcontractor coordination, and cost analysis across multi-family projects.

You will manage cost databases, review plans, and prepare proposals for Leadership Team approval, while building strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive, accurate estimates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as an estimator for a General Contractor (preferred).
• 4-year college degree in Building Construction or related field.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office; MS Project preferred.
• Experience with multi-family estimation (take-offs, pricing, final estimates).
• Familiarity with digital take-off/estimating tools: PlanHub, Bluebeam, Building Connected, OST.
• Experience with insurance estimates using Xactimate or similar tools (preferred).
• Strong communication, negotiation, time management, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines.

Job description

Community Construction Group, LLC is seeking an outstanding Project Estimator to join their Preconstruction Team. The Project Estimator will be involved with all aspects of the Estimating Process. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, a quick learner and ready to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate must have extensive construction knowledge with excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Position Responsibilities

• Attend site walks and work with Subcontractors to develop scopes on all projects.
• Become expert with bid solicitation, estimating and takeoff software and utilize software to optimum capabilities.
• Manage cost database and ensure unit costs are current and up to date.
• Monitor and expand subcontractor database in all jurisdictions we are authorized to work.
• Thoroughly review all bid documents (plans, specs, etc.) on all assigned and reviewed projects.
• Thoroughly review all proposals received from subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates on assigned projects using both unit cost and contract methods.
• Attend bid meetings when appropriate on assigned projects.
• Construct and prepare all proposals to finished product for approval by Leadership Team prior to submittal.
• Schedule and host subcontractor site meetings.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an estimator for a General Contractor with annual revenue above $50 million is preferred.
• 4-year college degree, preferably with a major in Building Construction or related field.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products (includes Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.
• Prior work experience in the multi-family industry and working knowledge of estimating construction jobs is preferred (reviewing, understanding, and performing take-offs on architectural plans; pricing/securing materials and building final job estimates).
• Experience with or knowledge of Building Connected, PlanHub, On-Center OST, Bluebeam or other digital take-off or estimating software application(s) is preferred.
• Experience in performing insurance estimates for fire, water or tornado damage using Xactimate or some other estimating software/tools is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies is a must.

• Candidate must be 18 years or older.
• Candidate must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
• Candidate must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
• Candidate must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Candidate must be willing to travel, as many project locations are outside of Atlanta.
