Job summary

Gulf South Roofing, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to lead estimating efforts for roofing and related construction projects. This role prepares accurate estimates, develops competitive bids, protects project margins, and supports a smooth transition from preconstruction to operations.

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of construction estimating experience, with commercial roofing estimating experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience
• Commercial roofing estimating experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal roofing, coatings, and repair systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Strong understanding of job costing, labor productivity, gross profit margins, and project financial performance
• Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff platforms, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for commercial roofing projects from bid invitation through proposal submission
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs, budgets, estimates, and bid packages
• Analyze drawings, specifications, subcontractor proposals, material pricing, and project requirements
• Develop competitive and profitable bids while protecting company margins
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Operations to ensure a seamless project handoff
• Track and analyze job costs, estimating accuracy, and project financial performance
• Continuously improve estimating processes, templates, systems, and tools
• Assist in building and maintaining relationships with clients and industry partners

Position Summary
